The Tobago-born Reggae star Franz Job stroke again: his latest achievement is a new riddim sampler with a fine selection of Reggae artists performing on the Country Life Riddim, produced by Franz Job in the name of the Country Boyz Foundation.
The perfect smooth summer soundtrack we all were waiting for! Music from the heart with positive messages and relaxed vibes.
Again, like on his earlier riddim samplers Franz gathered an impressive array of gifted artists many of whom are well known on their islands but still to be discovered for the global Reggae scene.
Beside Franz himself with his track "Every Day" there are for example the Trinidadian Reggae & Soca artist Bud Ramsay with his fantastic tune "Top of the World", the breathtakingly versatile Soca, Reggae and yes: Hardcore singer Malene Younglao, born in T&T living in Philly, with her song "Lick Shot", the US Rootsreggae band King Solomon with their uplifting song "Get Myself Together", "All Over Again" by Khari Kill from New York who in the words of BBC radio is "Reggae's unknown superstar", the Guyanese singer Bumpa Green, the HipHop, Reggae and Soca producer and singer Dainjamental, and many many more.

Boukman Eksperyans is one of the most important and most popular bands from Haiti, touring the world for the last two decades, once even have been nominated for a Grammy. Being a blend of Rasin, Reggae and Voodoo Rock, the band's sound is as unique as it is enchanting. The fusion of traditional Haitian influences, rock-style guitar and uplifting lyrics in French, Kreyol and English is a hallmark of the band that was named after Dutty Boukman a hero of the slave uprising that resulted in the Haitian revolution.

Bacchanalism is proud to present one of the most promising Reggae artists from Trinidad & Tobago: Franz Job. Beside the widely known Soca and Calypso culture of the Caribbean twin-island republic, there is also a lively Reggae scene with a musical output on the highest quality level. Franz Job, the Eclectic Country Boy from Tobago is not only a skilled producer, but also a singer with a fantastic voice and a lot of song writing talent.

"Babylon Is Dead" is the debut album of Franz Job, the brightest star
on the Reggae firmament above his beautiful home, the Caribbean island of Tobago.

After the immense success as a producer of three riddim compilations and singer of several single tunes, he now presents this wonderful solo album. With his unique voice Franz Job tells his audience about his youth on the countryside, of finding his way abroad and of his love for music that helps getting through all hardships and sweetens the happy moments of live.

In Franz Jobs songs the influences of Jamaican Roots Reggae mingle with the elaborate lyrical tradition of Calypso from Trinidad & Tobago. The result is an album filled with intriguing melodies and lyrics with a message.

Today Franz Job aka “The Eclectic Country Boy”, is one of the greatest and most promising Reggae artists outta Trinidad & Tobago. He composed and produced several wonderful riddims, voiced by the cream of the crop of T&T’s Reggae scene, he is also singing himself and playing instruments.
Franz is proud to be a “country boy” from Trinidad’s smaller sister island of Tobago. Growing-up on this gem of the Caribbean with its scenic beauty and seclusion on one hand and variety of musical traditions on the other hand formed him. Already at the tender age of 14, Franz Job was an accomplished rhythm guitarist in his countryside village of Charlotteville, Tobago.
Steel Pan and the song writing excellence of the Calypso and Country genres, together with high energy church sessions can be named as fundamental influences as well as his childhood heroes such as The Wailers, Israel Vibration, later on mid 90s superstars The Fugees were a great inspiration.

Five years later, after finishing an engineering course at The College of North East London, Franz with the help of fellow teenaged church goers Gemma Devonish and Lorraine Hutchinson, made his first recording ‘Juggle Down Dey’. After hearing the innovativeness and versatile musical capability of the young country boy, veteran sound man and Reggae intelligentsia Gladdy Wax became integral in mentoring the budding artist through the ins and outs of the record industry.

From there on, Franz, funded solely by monies made as a pharmacy assistant, composed and produced numerous recordings under the ‘Roots Conquest’ collective – a group consisting of close friends founded by the hard working musician.
This is the era that truly defined the “Eclectic Country Boy” and brought him to the attention of producer extraordinaire Rollo Armstrong and various other record company hot shots.
Franz then went on to feature on the ‘Sweet As’ hip hop album by renowned UK producer P*Nut and the platinum selling Faithless album ‘Forever Faithless’.
In 2006 the Country Boyz Foundation (CBF) was founded, a UK based Entertainment Group that consists of an Independent Record Label Imprint and Music Publishing House dedicated to the uplift and worldwide promotion of Tobago recording and performing artists.
Bacchanalism is now cooperating with CBF to bring the beautiful music of eclectic Tobago artist Franz Job to all major download shops. The digital release of three sweet riddims, that feature Trinidad &Tobago’s finest is just accomplished and there is more to come soon. We'll keep you updated.

We are happy to announce the signing of Tobago's new big Reggae name Franz Job, who will release three of his latest riddim productions with us. In May we have Haitian rap for you in cooperation with Zingo Rec.

JULIE MOURILLON was born and raised in the Caribbean island of Dominica. He started music at an early age, playing with top Dominican bands of the early seventies and quickly became one of the top guitarists on the island. In November 1973, he teamed up with several Dominican musician friends and moved to the neighbouring French island of Guadeloupe where they created the Group Exile One and pioneered a new musical form called cadence-lypso. A fusion of Dominican and Caribbean rhythms, cadence-lypso revolutionized the music scene and became the main dance music of Dominica, Martinique,Guadeloupe and other French Creole Caribbean islands during the 1970s. Julie’s strident guitar rhythmic style became one of the defining elements of this new musical form. Julie Mourillon is a prolific song writer, composer and singer and has largely contributed to the success of Exile One with his compositions such as Cadence-lypso, Ilyne and Jumbolo. In 1975, Julie moved to Paris with his Exile One colleagues. There he made his first solo album Rock Your Bones. The hit track Pays a Moin shot up to number one in Dominica and other Caribbean islands. His solo career however really began to take off in 1980 when he returned to Dominica where he formed his own backing group called Emphasis and shortly after, released an album Julie Mourillon and Emphasis which topped the local charts. In 1982, Julie returned to Paris where he teamed up with some of his colleagues from Exile One and formed a new group called Roots of Exile. Together, they launched a new beat dubbed Island Boogie, a fusion of cadence-lypso and North American funk and soul and toured Africa and Europe. In 1984, Julie went truly solo as a main act. Since then he has released 14 albums including 2 reggae albums, unleashing hits such as Aniece, Ecoutez, Piman Cho, Julianna and Trodding On.Over the years, he toured Africa, Europe, USA, Caribbean and the Pacific. Julie is also very much in demand as a session musician and has worked with top rap and reggae acts in Paris as well as with Jamaican musicians including Cat and Rugs of Third World and more recently, superstar Jimmy Cliff. In recent years, Julie’s music is being distributed by Jet Star Phonographics, a worldwide record distribution company based in London. Jump Up Party is the newest offering of Julie Mourillon. As the name suggests, it is a party album with great ambience and Julie is dishing out hot spicy Caribbean music: soca, bouyon, cadence and merengue. Jump Up Party truely demonstrates the versatility of Julie Mourillon as a composer, writer and singer.
